The person

My name is Duco Kuijer. Born in Doetinchem and raised in Arnhem. As a child, I showed a broad interest in various subjects, including gaming, space, programming, and digital technology. After traveling through Australia for half a year (which translates to: a lot of partying), I moved to Rotterdam to pursue my education.

What do I do?

I actually wanted to go to the conservatory. But I wasn’t allowed to audition. The pieces I submitted weren’t good enough. And honestly, it’s a good thing too! I ended up in urbanism instead and also have a background in water management. Some people say I’ve got the wet ’n dry. Did you know the king of the Netherlands majored in the same subject? I even have a photo with him. Take a look:

What is this website for?

I needed an outlet for my thoughts and a way to structurally write down knowledge and commit to making it open and available. My writing tends to draw from personal experience and I enjoy to keep it locally grounded. I’d love to write this blog in Dutch - I actually started out that way - but I see value in connecting to an international audience.
